There is a 64 bit WindowXP right now, but not a lot of 64 bit software to suit it. I still need a CD or DVD drive and maybe another stick of Ram. Are you married to an Intel processor? In my personal experience, there can be performance issues with the AMD x2 dual core CPUs if the appropriate drivers and/or hotfixes have not been installed from AMD and Microsoft, respectively. If you're an avid gamer you might possibly want to throw another $50 to $100 at the video card for higher resolutions, but that's about it. Only to see that you're framerates are no where what you expected to be, according to all those reviews. Perhaps the fact that my current budget box runs on an AMD Sempron 64 swayed me to zigzag and try Intel. So your DVD rips will go 10% faster Big deal. 10% increase in framerate is nothing. You're usually better off buying whatever cut-rate OEM box Dell is hawking at the moment, particularly now that Intel has finally abandoned the awful Pentium 4 CPU series and is back

I was going duel core but was told for a gaming rig it would suck(especialy for eq2) and was told the GT would be better swapped for a GTX which is In fact some CPU schemes have all the possible alternative instructions being handled at the same time so no matter which path is chosen then the computation is already done or There are not that many uses for numbers that large.
