Outlook works again and I have the outlook.pst and the archive.pst files both in the default folder but I cannot review my older emails. If it comes to uninstalling Do a Find>Files or folders for *.pst,*.pab files. I saw above somebody has asked same question but not able to get what he did to get PST open. Before startup the outlook, I copied my old outlook pst and a large (1 G) archive pst file to the new outlook data folder. his comment is here

Mail messages should be stored as individual files - build an index from those and then you can recreate it any time you mess it up. Spoke with microsoft which were not helpful and said to try a 3rd party software. Communicate. It's faster and more efficient to just create 2 new pst's. When Detect and Repair prompted for the disc, I inserted my copy of Standard version and it wouldn't accept it.

It's working fine after doing this SCANPST.EXE repair tool. I woke up to disciover an update had run and now my Outlook.pst folder is missing. It won't hurt.
