This takes a good chunk of time when there are a lot of messages on the account, and it is required several times a day. I love Gmail's interface, don't get me wrong -- I just can't give up being ON my mail server -- regardless of my client. gmail does not support IMAP, so I do not use it actively anymore. Hit command-L again and then a few more pop up.
