You can see which of your email accounts is the default one, if any, by opening the Account Setting dialog. If the antivirus program is casing issues with sending email, first of all check your antivirus manufacture's web-site for updates, and then forums or user communities for solutions and workarounds. but I agree its annoying and its happening on outlook 2007 as well.
