I would suggest you to install Microsoft Security Essentials instead of AVG Internet Security. the system should be ok. If you have an operating system CD, I would put it in and do a repair. It just powers on, no post and the hard drive whirls down after several seconds.

You can try removing your video card and using onboard video, or replacing the video card to see if that is the problem.
