Whatever you do get rid of vista, the user interface in my opinion is much smoother on 7.And for all those PC or MAC guys I would just like to say e.g. The only difference is the OS system, if the hardware and the bios are that of Vista 64 and they work with the Vista 64bit OS.
My laptop has 4 Gigs of ram. i can't even re-install win 7 because it needs some 512 MB. I came into this article because i was searching for a solution or an explenation for my problem. if u r not much into gaming and so u can buy a new processor that supports 64 bit making your computer work perfectly like said above, i never bought a try here

on system properties it showed 6gb (2gb usable) any suggestions, maybe i have a 2 bad ram? Pretty much, a 32bit program using 1GB of memory in a 32bit OS will consume 2GB in a 64bit OS. The 32-bit OS not only limits the total available RAM for the system to 4GB, it also limits each application to a 2GB limit. Hope it helps someone else.

Get more RAM. 6 GB should be the minimum, with a preference for 8 or 12. I am not the most computer savvy person however. There is a lot more problems on a 64-bit processor than on a 32-bit, also if you host a 32-bit application on a 64-bit processor you have more problems. This is definitely something to do with address space being reserved to map to other devices, although if not the graphics card I am not sure what. –AdamV Dec 11 '09
